ACUM, JOHN (Acomb) - French or English?
ACUM, JOHN (Acomb)The nationality of John Acum or Acomb is not certain. He paid Nicholas de Longuemare 8£ 9 shillings for mending a tobacco box and for a crystal in 1703.[1] A few years later, Acum was associated with Scotsman James Kinloch in two documents: once as a witness for Rodolph May in 1705 and another time as the appraiser of the estate of trader John Marshall in 1706. A dispute with Lancelott Brett resulted in a judgment roll being filed between 1705 and 1707. John Acum had died by 10 Feb 1708 when his name appeared in a will index.[2]
