French Tri-Color Flies over Castle Pinckney in Charleston harbor in SC
The French National flag has been raised over Castle Pinckney in Charleston Harbor as a symbol of our solidarity with our brother and sisters in France. Castle Pinckney was named for former US Ambassador to France, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, son of Charles Pinckney and Eliza Lucas. The Castle Pinckney Historical Preservation Society, the 501C3 arm of Fort Sumter Camp (owner of Castle Pinckney), and its President, Rob Mikell, made a decision early Saturday morning to fly the Tri-Color in honor and tribute to France, the oldest ally of the United States in its, and our, time of need. It is hoped that the Tri-color flag flying high in the harbor will send a message of love and resolve to all people in France.
